Anyone have any idea why my '41 A would sling oil on the outside of the flywheel?
Is there some kind of seal or packing behind the flywheel that needs to be replaced?
Thanks,
JDBob

Also be sure to center the flywheel spacer cover (the one taken off to replace the seal) on the flywheel spacer with a feeler guage.

Bob,yes hes right u need a new cork crank seal and get a new gasket for that D Shaped cover also because you have to remove it to get to cork seal and soak it in oil before you install it then get flywheel back on in time and at propeer end play clearance. Ol John T in Indiana

Never did have a flywheel wrench myself. Used a big ole pipe wrench, always works. Be darn sure you get those timing marks lined up right when you put it back on. If you don't know how to do that I can fax or e-mail a copy of the set-up for it.
