How many 47 A's were made with the slant dash?? just wondering

Sorry, no real positive numbers available. A lot of these were converted from hand start to electric start.

There are no definate numbers but if we look, we see that the new style A was introduced in March of 47. So that only leaves 2 months in 47 that the long hood style could have been made. Anyone who has looked at tractors made in 46 can see that the great majority of them are electric start so I think it is safe to assume the tractors built in jan and feb of 47 followed that trend with most of them being long hood electric start models.

Acording to J.R.Hobbs book on John Deere Styled Letter Series there were 11,524 slant dash"A",s built in 1947,ending at serial number 583326 there were 672 numbers scrapped before the start of production of the late model"A"at serial number 584000.

I have a 46 A slant dash and the ser#is 567158 I has Elect start also I dont think it was a conversion either
