I have 1963, JD1010. I have purchased a front end loader and need to mount it. I need to to know how the lines should be hooked up. A friend suggested in series with the three point hitch. the pump appears to be on top of the trans case between panel that hold the one gauge and the ignition switch and light switch and the engine.
I would also like to know where you add hydraulic fluid/oil and how to drain it out if I wanted to change it.
I am currently experiencing no problems with the three point hitch. It raises and lowers and holds very well.
Thanks,

Hi, I have a 1010 and I bought a 36a loader last year and had to put the loader on. The way I ran the hoses was: The top of your pump is your pressure(out force) You will run a line from the pump into the (IN) on your control valve. Then you will run a line from the (OUT) on the control valve to the hydro resorvor under the seat. If you look under your seat by the rear lift control valve for you 3-point lift, look you will see a little plug . This is where your return line goes. IF you need a pic of this I will send you one of my tractor and where the lines go. To drain the hyro fluid you will see to little plugs behind the rear seat ontop of your 3point. Theres one on the left and right. To fill up the hydrolic just lift the seat and pop off the cap on the hydrolics and fill with hydro fuild. Good luck.

To Buckanddeere, I have thin operators manual I purchased at Tractor Supply Company. However, I will call the 1800 number you sent and follow up on that. As I mentioned right now the three point works great.

Art:

There's a very knowledgeable guy that frequents this board with the handle of "CountryGent55". He sent me more info on adding remotes to my 1965 JD1010RU than I even understand.

As for the drain plug it should be on the back of the rockshaft housing. The filler cap should be under the front of the seat.

For what its worth, I was told by the local JohnDeere dealer that adding remotes or front loaders is only recommended on a dual cylinder system like the RU models have.

Is this an absolute fact, I have no idea.

Osage,

Thanks for the info. I guess the reason my friend recommended puting the lines in series. I even thought of putting an additional valve to switch between the two. I guess I will see. I hope the countrygent55 sees my question and gives me some advice. Thanks

In series between the hydraulic pump and the rockshaft is correct as the system is open center. Pre 41,001 tractors used the low pressure system. Your loader if equiped with the smaller dia high pressure hydraulic rams will loose lift capacity.

TO: buckanddeere, Thanks that makes me feel better. I got the frame on yesterday. Have to wait on hoses to mount loader and bucket. Is there any chance you can tell me where to add fluid to the hydraulic system??

I'm going to have to tell you to get the parts, service and operator's manual for that 1010. You are going to run into lots of other adventures as well needing info. They are not expensive and it does not diminise your manhoood by reading the tractor's data. 1-800-522-7448. She may require some extra hydraulic oil capacity with an extra tank. My 435/35 loader was setup that way. Look under the seat. Fill until oil seaps from around the rockshaft seals. Forget about using the wingnut dribble do-hicky for level.
