I've had a 2440 for a while now, and just bought ANOTHER one. I keep close tabs on the going price of 2240's 2440's and 2640's. With the (relatively) low hours, that tractor, with a good loader, (and you're getting one there) is easily priced at $12,500 or higher around here. The XX40, XX50, and XX55 series utilities are hard to come by at a bargain. Expect to pay all they're worth. That's a good solid tractor in most cases. Listen to what was said about the coolant.... Keep it changed regularly. There are additives available (through Deere or I use a Fram product) to reduce cavitation, and to balance the Ph level of the anti-freeze. Keep the (internal) clutch throw out bearing greased. There's a small round "knock out" near the clutch pedal that will access that. Failure to do so will significantly shorten clutch life. DON'T add 90 wt. gear oil to the rear end. (QUICK brake pad failure.... Pad material will stop up hydraulic system. I'd recommend getting (from Deere) the owners manual, tech service manual, and parts manual. They aren't cheap, but they WILL save you mucho denero over time. Good luck!
