This tractor has open center hydraulics. Gotta be moving to turn the steering wheel. Where do you check or adjust the steering pressure? Just changed the hydraulic filter. Only book I have yet is a parts book. Thanks

This tractor is rare if it has an open center system on it only seen one other one. The power steering pump is the front of the two pumps. tap into the outlet of the power steering pump with a 2000 PSI guage. Run the tractor at 2000RPMS Turn the wheel all the way left or right and hold it I'm not quite sure on the spec but I think that it's 1800-1900PSI. To adjust there is a relief valve underneath the right floor board. It's a little block with a screw a jam nut out the back. If you have a loader on it you probably won't get it to work as that power steering system sucked. Another thing to check if your pressure is o.k. Is the steering valve itself the column underneath the steering wheel. Good luck. E-mail me with any questions.

Looking at the parts book, the pump on mine is the two section open center system where the later ones have a radial type pump. This 2040 and another one will make a couple I've seen. Your directions will let me check out the system because I've got to get it to steer better than it does now or I might as well use my IH 350 Utility w/o power steering.
