I recently picked up an old AC two row planter on steel. I am not sure how the hitch hooks up to the draw bar. The planter has a bar that is two pieces of steel that run side by side about 3 inches apart. They are connected at the end by a round rod. In addition there are chains that are connected to the markers, that would allow the markers to go up and down based on the tension of the spring. Does anyone know how this hooks up or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Tom

IF it is indeed a 2 row snap coupler planter and you can't use it that way, please do not take the torch to it and make it into a none snap coupler planter. Sell it to someone who will buy it for what it is and then turn around and buy a regular planter.

If the "round rod" is an oval shaped hoop on the end it is a snap coupler and the draw bar has to be dropped and the hoop goes into the snap coupler bell underneath the tractor. If in fact you have a snap couplor planter it will only work on those Allis Chalmers tractors that are equipped with a snap coupler system. Another option is to get a torch and welder and convert it over to three point. If it happens to be a trailer planter then it probably has something missing on the tongue. Can you post a picture?
