Hi,Iwould like to know the cost to completly rebuild a cutter bar on a John Deere 1360 or 1460 discbine. I think they are like a NH411 and the khun [spelling?] brand.
Thank you in advance,Mike

If you put any value on your time, the best place to start is to get ahold of Kuhn USA in Vernon, NY. Find out if they can sell your local Kuhn dealer a "short bar" to fit your Deere disc machine. Kuhn supplied bars for many Deere models. Then decide how deep into your old bar you want to go.

hoped you have a strong heart. my JD 1327 has 9 discs each has a $392 bearing stack. idler gear between each, flanged metric bolts and nuts,($50 replacing stripped & rusted last time I split it.) keep track of all those wear plates, and pan clips, if you don't use them it allows the pans to flex and leak oil, itdoesn't hold that much! Bearing distributors could order the bearings--nearly same price as JD who had the assemblies complete. while you've got it apart look at the discs, splined shafts are hardened, discs are soft so--never replaced a shaft but on second set of discs. PITA to work on but it is sweet to cut with.
