Hello! I just found this forum and haven't yet reviewed all the old posts. Just took possession of my father in law's 8N with original front end bucket. It bleeds down way too fast, what should I look at: pump or the cylinders. Are parts available? Thanks so much!

Unless it is the industral model with front mount pump and down pressure on the loader then it would have to be in the tractor because if it would be the seals in the cylinders then it would be pooring the oil out on the ground and that would be obvious, the oil in a single acting: one way; cylinder cannout go past the seals back into the system, it would gout side the cylinder. It could be the rings on the piston for the three point hitch that are leaking. Do you have the three point arms tied down?

It more likely a leak in the cylinders, do the lift cylinders leak hydraulic oil out from aroun the wiper seal on the ram. If it is you can fix it for around 10 dollars a cylinder. if there not externally leakin you may the pistons with the chevron packing on the pistons. Or its your valve leaking Best regauards Taylor Lambert
