Fair Price for this disc?

Neighbor 1/4 mile from my house has this disc for sale. He bought it at an auction. I'm not going to be taking the time to get a deal at an auction so what is a fair price for this? It's also a good deal that I can drive my tractor to it to pick it up. He says it's in good useable condition and the bearings all look good. I really don't care about it being cosmetically ugly. I don't need pretty painted disc. I don't know a lot about these but it seems to be pretty heavily built and the angle of the gangs can be adjusted. I'll be using it once every couple years on a few acres of food plots. The ground will NOT be tilled first so the notched blades are probably what I want. His price is $775 and I'm not going to haggle. I'm either going to pay it or keep looking. The fact I can see his house from mine I really like as well. No need to travel an hour just to look around at them. You can't tell what make it is but it's a dull blue for what paint is left. Is it worth $775? See anything bad about it? Anybody know who makes it?

If nobody sees anything negative about this disc I'll likely buy it. I'm not interested in spending hours of my time and $50 in gas driving around looking at discs to buy from people I don't trust to save $100 on the implement. I trust my neighbor not to intentionally fool me.

He said the same auction had a smaller light duty disc with what looked like a broken axle (that he wasn't interested in buying) and it went for $400.

(quoted from post at 20:11:09 06/23/22) I think you could buy a new disk for 775.

Even the "medium duty" angle iron disc at tractor supply is $1,700. World has gone mad.

Decent price for around here now. Pretty much a standard design. For food plots they work well to set it at a sharp angle to break up the area then adjust angle to almost nothing to cover the seed.

(quoted from post at 05:54:44 06/24/22) Just wondering what seed mix do you use in your plots?

It's been a few years so I can't remember specifics but I generally keep it very basic. A couple different kinds of clovers I get from the ag store. I did try beets but the deer seemed to ignore those. I just cleared two more acres of jack pine at my house this spring primarily to open things up a bit and have a view from the deck but I plan to try more things with more area to play. We consistently see deer in this newly opened area during the daytime.

Price seems fair to me. That's a fairly well built disc. By design I'd say it's a Bush Hog... although color suggests something
else. I'd lift it up and make sure the bearings are good... as they probably aren't if it's been sitting long... but a couple
hundred and your time will put all new bearings on it. Not having to travel is worth a lot right now...

Those little buggers bring good prices around here due to the demand for use on food plots and gardens. Heck, I've been
looking for one just like that. New at Orschelns is about $1300 and isn't built nearly as heavy. If it were near me I would
be buying it.

If disk blades and bearings are good and gang bolts are fairly tight that is a good deal these days. The smaller three point hitch
disks bring decent money around here too, good demand for food plots and such and that is alot heavier disk than the farm stores
sell today.

The way things are today I guess thats pretty good, I paid $250 for this Massey Ferguson 35 set back
in 2003, the pic you show they look pretty heavy, and theyre not gonna get any cheaper with the dollar being so
worthless.

Ill be going to get it today. Was hoping to only pay $600 max for one but this price doesnt surprise me

Here in wisconsin that would sold for
about 350 last year but now are bringing
over 1000 now.and jockeys are asking about
1500. Good luck. As stated below once
raised in the air turn shafts to check out
bearings.

Saw 1 sell at a consignment auction on the 1st Sunday of this month, similar size but good paint bring
250.00.

At todays prices, for a 6', if all the bearings are good would be cheap around here. I have one exactly like that I bought 15 or so
years ago, slightly used...paint still intact for $400 from an individual which was a couple hundred cheaper than on used implement
lots in rougher shape around here.

All sounds good. I told him Saturday I'd be buying it from him but he's been busy helping his son on the farm. I should be getting it at some point this week.
