New Holland 855 apron chain sudden slack

I just replaced all the belts on my 855 round baler, also replaced a bushing on the tail gate latch, and adjusted the latches. Now somehow about 2 inches of slack on just one side of the apron chain. Something has to have broken, but I can not see what or where? Any ideas?

Thanks!

So far can not see any obvious issues with sprockets or bearings.. very odd at this point. I will take another close look at everything on that side tonight, this is on the side with the drive belt.

I looked at it again tonight, no idlers off, did find one on the opposite side that does appear to have a bearing going. The chain is not straight either, no idea how it got skewed, how do i fix both? Thinking it is time to remove all the bars, replace at least the bearing that appears bad, and re-time the entire chain? Or, buy a different baler? I like the 855, and only make about 200 bales a year, not sure which way to go at this point.

I junked an 855 because of that same stupid chain! The newer chain balers do a lot better job than the old 851 and earlier balers but the chain is so massively heavy you can?t do anything with it without pulling all the tubes out which Is a good time especially when there is hay to put up. You can buy a new set of apron chains less tubes for about 2000$ from shoup parts that might be an option if the rest of the baler Is In ok shape ? 2000$ is also a good down payment on a baler workout apron chains
