Help. Trying to bale of course, started baling all seemed well, then on about the 3rd or 4th bale noticed the chains sounded like it was slowing down, thought maybe heavy hay so slowed down a gear, finished that bale, did one more then the next one, started a bale it got to about 2 feet around, then the rolls stopped. PTO is turning, no chains, no pickup head, i have a manual, but of course can't find it right now. Anyone have any idea?

thanks,

Leo

it appears to possibly be the apron drive belt, of course the massive 5 wide v belt, i did add tension to is, but won't be able to try it until the morning, appears to be only obvious way as it appears to actually drive everything from that belt and even with added tension it appears to be less than very tight. Would belt dressing help?

There are shear bolts, however, they are not broken, it appears to be the apron drive belt which is like 5 vbelts in one.. slipping from what I can tell.

I tightened the Apron chain spring by about three quarters of an inch, baled a bale this morning with too much dew on it, completed full bale never slowed down, and I did notice when I dumped it, the apron chain reversed... That has not happend in a while, of course I did not realize it, only do about 200 bales a year. I believe I should be able to finish today, will order a new belt as it is worn and do not want to have this happen again.

thanks everyone.
