Looked like nice clean straw.

I always hate dropping on the ground, seems like I think about all the work coming up then..... :) Straw isn't so bad can toss the bales up some. My bale basket was full and rain coming a week ago, so I baled the 'little bit' of straw I had on a field end dropping on the ground, picked them up with my Polaris and 2 wheel trailer. I was thinking maybe 40 bales; well 5 high and 72 bales later, the Polaris worked a little getting the load home......

I baled some wheat straw once. Cut with a 24' header. 1st gear,TA back.Clutch once in once a while.Had the tractor(1256) engine almost full throttle.... NewHolland 283('big chamber')baler. Bales came out 4 to 5 ft apart.

I was in first at 2100 rpm . The straw I baled the other day was out of a 36 foot combine the rows weren?t as fluffy they came out of a rotary machine and I did 90 bales in 150 feet they came out almost on top of each other

Thanks for the baling pics. That's a good sized swath!

BTW, you make a habit of tackling sidehills like that and yer gunna end up in the rhubarb one of these days! LOL

(quoted from post at 15:59:31 08/19/18) I haul mine on a two wheel trailer when they?re close to the house

They are right side up ok mine . This site is the
absolute worst for pictures they won?t load or they
do load but then won?t post and they are either
upside down or sideways depending on what device
you use

Ahh I get what you?re saying about the side hill .
That old John Deere weighs 900 pounds 1200 with
me that?s why it got a bad name amongst all the hot
rod kids that thinks a four wheeler should be able to
do 75 and pop wheelies and do cookies 🍪 the
buck will do none of that it?s top speed Is 55 and as
quick as the hind wheels slip it automatically
engages the 4wd none of things are any good for
showing off to your buddy?s but it will haul about
anything up and over or through just about anything

Finally finished my straw baling Sunday afternoon. Had a small late oats field. With the 90% humidity and less than 5mph breeze and the overcast haze and smoke in the air from the Canadian fires, it was a heck of a day for unloading 200 bales. Have 140 in the shed to unload some day, but done baling anyhow. Rain started dripping at 10:30 as thry forecast.

Well, if the rain ends and get a 4 day window, I can start grass and alfalfa baling again any time, so just done baling straw......
