New Holland 850 Round Baler

I have a New Holland 850 round baler. It has worked great for my needs but I recently ran into a bit of trouble. The gate on the back works its way open as you make a bale. I wondered if anyone knew about the valve lock on those machines and could explain one to me.

Thanks

Had that happen on one of my NH850 balers and found it was caused by the cylinder getting bad and needing to be rebuilt. I found one bad and rebuilt it and in a very short time the other one went bad so rebuilt it also. So if I where you I would rebuild them both. Not hard to do but there is a truck to taking them apart to rebuild them

Without the manual I can?t remember but there is a valve that locks
the gate shut . Traditional Farmer is the guy who would know he?s a
chain baler guru

That valve does zero if one or both cylinder start to go bad BTDT more the once on the NH850s. I have a pair of them I use

I'll 2nd what Old said you need to rebuild the cylinders most likely, pretty common problem with those balers.A young fellow that used to work at the NH dealership does them for me costs me
less than $100 each.

If I remember right the kit to rebuild one is also pretty cheap as in les then $20 and pretty easy to do if you figure out the taking it apart part which if you do not know how is not easy
