I have an international harvester Hay elevator that I am trying to figure out. Has some type of turn table that I?ve never seen on one before. I?m wondering if there are pieces missing that connect all sections together, and if anyone has pictures out there if thid same elevator to reference it be even better. Any informationor help at all ok this model would be much appreciated! If you can email me, I?ll send pictures of what I have unless someone can walk me through posting pics on a discussion forum?? Thanks!

There is no serial tag or stamped number that I can find, but I finally figured out how to add some photos if anyone out there can help answer my questions in this post.

I figured out how to add some pics if you can see reply. I do have one additional section that can be added not pictured, but it is what I would consider a "normal" extension to the elevator.

Looks like it's all there from a quick look.

Put the sprocket under the main chain, will run the side chains, flip the bale up and onto the side angled tin and the bale slides off the side.

Clamp it up or down the conveyer where you want it.

now, does it work on a steep elevator, or more so on a flat conveyor in the roof peak....

Could it be a bale diverter. By the ability to see the decal in good shape, I believe that the elevator hung up in a barn on the hay rail. The diverter, if that is what that piece is, had a rope that came to the ground, and somehow or other a farmer could slide it along the conveyor to kick off bales where he wanted them to drop. never knew anybody who had one, but saw them listed in the TSC book in the 60s and in the 1860 book I have now.

Paul is right that is a bale diverter for use in haymow elevator sits in hangers suspended from rafters or if barn was older hay carrier track. Our John Deere model 200 was put in in 1970 and hangers came with chain and brackets for the old hay carrier track.I have not seen an IH elevator in thirty years.Alot of companys made them as long as it works no matter what brand they saved alot of work.Scott

Nope. I've seen 'something like that' in the peaks of several barns from floor level, and just looks right for what they do.

Thank you for the input everyone. I may plan to go ahead and sell the elevator. I have another elevator that I have repaired and been using. Anyone know what this thing could be worth? Looks like it is all there as far as I can tell

Not sure what brand it is but there's a elevator like that in my MIL's hay barn, hay diverter is a little different.
It's up in the top of the barn running nearing the full length of the loft, another elevator is setup running from the ground up to the top one.
The diverter is moved to far end of the loft at the beginning and slid back as the loft is filled with bales, It saved carrying bales by hand to the back of the hay loft when you start filling it with hay, that barn is 80 ft long.

Going there today, I'll take some pics and post them later.

I bought a 20 footer last fall for 25.00 here in eastern Nebraska..Looks very similar to yours.. minus the weird part..
