Broke off bolt where pto shaft attaches to gear box. Is this where a shear pin should have been? Hole appears to be threaded need info as to removal. I?ve never used a ez out.

So when I broke the shear pin on my dad's Woods Dixie Cutter (M5), I found out it should have a 7/16" X 3 3/4" (I think) grade 2 shear pin. Difficult to locate in my area though, so I made one out of a grade 5 bolt. Probably a mistake, but I needed to use the mower deck. Will keep looking for a grade 2 bolt, but the mower deck will work for now.
It is a 7/16" dia. bolt though. Also, mine just dropped out with a little tap with a punch and hammer.
