I have a leak on the gear box that turns the cutter bar. I am sure it is the bearing at the bottom where the cutter bar connects.
Can someone tell me how to go about dropping the bar so I can replace the bearing.I think I can do it but would like some advice.

The gearbox with the belt pulley on top? No need to drop the bar. Take the 4 bolts out of the flange at the bottom of the driveshaft (at the cutterbar) then remove the shaft. I?m not sure if you can replace the lower seal and bearing with the gearbox in place. I?d probably remove the box and fix it on a bench.
