brillion seeder seeding rate

I have an older 10' Brillion seeder. The numbers on the rate adjustment are not the pounds per acre. They refer to a chart on the inside of the box. I am seeding timothy, trefoil and clover. The chart makes no reference to any of those seeds. Is there some scientific way a person could figure out exactly how much they are seeding, other than trial and error? I got done with the field and still had a fair amount of seed left, so I started over and just kept seeding until the seed was all gone. Wastes a lot of time though.

Put a small measured amount of seed in the hopper, drive until it runs out, then calculate the area that it spread. You need a helper to walk behind and watch the hopper, or rig a remote camera.

The chart on mine lists those seeds. What seeds DOES yours show? Should be something similar. Timothy is small and light, but clover and trefoil aren't far off of alfalfa for size and weight.
