MF32 sickle mower out of register

Hello, new to forum, but I was hoping someone could help me out. I have a mf32 sickle mower that is out of register. I have the manual and the explaination therein of how to adjust register by moving around shims. It is easy enough to remove the pin, colla, and shims on the outboard position, but I am not sure how to access the shims on the inboard position. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Not sure, the pitman came with the mower. Looking at it this morning there appears to be a repair (weld) that may have lengthened the metal strap that attached pitman to the knife head by about a quarter inch. I guess this is the cause.

(quoted from post at 23:42:30 07/25/18) Do you have the correct "pitman stick" installed or a generic or home-made one?

I will measure the pitman length on my @32 MF mower and get back with you,
I have registered my mower before,
I did break a pitman one time and replaced it with the pitman sold by MF,

My understanding, if you can not get the mower in register by moving the shims, your pitman length is off,

Did you inherit this mower as I did? they will work ok, but probably not the best old mowers,
If you are going to keep and use it, I suggest you keep your eye out for a junk mower for replacement parts,
They were made in the early 60?s

thanks. i did not inherit it, i picked it up for free though. says something about the previous owners opinion of it i guess. seems to function well enough though, apart from the current issue.

my problem is with moving the shims themselves. i am not sure how to get at the shims on the left side to move them over to the right side. looking at the two shim positions from behind the tractor.
