Vicon CM216 Disk Cutter

When adding oil into my cutter bar I noticed afterwards once I raised the bar up in route to the hay field, that I had a small leak coming from under one of the cutter
holders. But it only seems to leak when the bar is raised. Do you all think its a good idea to finish this hay season and just keep the bar full and repair the leak
later? Or is this a easy fix to replace the seal and just repair it now?

From under which holder is it leaking when the bar is up? I think that you would probably be ok to keep mowing with it for now. How often do you have to add oil? Are you sure it is coming from around the cutter shaft? I know someone with a CM216 around here, but I can't remember how you check the level in the cutter bar. It might be possible to get too much in it and that might contribute to a leak.

We have a CM 240 and it leaks some from a large o-ring that seals the gearbox to the cutter bar. I had to add some to the bar when I started mowing, only about 6 or 8 ounces, and about that much more after mowing around 20 acres.

Yes, it is coming from under only one disk/blade holder, the rest are clear and clean. I will be cutting 30 acres next week and was just wondering.

We have a cm2400 that was doing something very similar, think we figured it to be the oring that is in the bar under each head.
