John Deere Loader Identification

I recently purchased a John Deere 2630 utility tractor with a JD loader attached. The s/n tags were missing for both tractor and loader. I was able to track down the s/n of the tractor and it is a 1975. I can't identify the loader as the model number is peeled off of the masts where you would normally see it. One thing unique is it has the single bucket dump cylinder vs two dump cylinders that are found on newer loaders. Is there anything unique around the loader control block or operator's handles by model? Can anyone identify what model of loader this is or tell me what to look for to determine model? Could it be a Model 47? I want to obtain the parts catalog to order parts and any other manuals for this loader but want to be sure of the model before purchasing parts and manuals.

You most likely have a 48 loader. Could be a 143 but they were for the smaller tractors and should not be found on your tractor. Google images for 48 loader. There is also the chance that you have an off brand loader painted green. Post a pic and we can help. Tom

I will second it more than likely being a JD 48 loader. The one in the picture is a JD 48 mounted on a JD 2020. So it should look just like yours.

The loader mounting brackets will tell what mdel possibly too as newer ones use more flat steel older ones had some cast pieces

It is definitely a JD loader. The picture you show of the 48 loader does show a single dump cylinder but it looks like it is fastened to the center tube with a casting and mine shows a couple of U-Bolts to fasten the cylinder to the center tube. The model 47 loader also shows a single dump cylinder. I could get my spouse to take a picture with her smartphone but how do I post it here for you guys to see? Roger

I think I figured out how to post pictures of the loader. Here are 2 pictures showing the single dump cylinder area. Does anyone need more info. Does anyone know the difference between a 48 vs a 47 loader as they both have a single cylinder bucket control? Thanks for your help.

I agree with all of you that what I got was a 48 loader. I checked out the 47 loader and it does not mount to the tractor with the same frame as the 48. My loader looks identical to the 48 along with how the single bucket cylinder mounts on the center tube. Thanks everyone.
Another question about the loader stand that is missing. As I to replace the clutch on the 2630 I need to remove the loader but I believe that there should be some type of stand that can swing down and hold the loader while backing out from under it. Anyone have info on that? Thanks.

The stands were very simple but they were separate from the loader. The owners manual should have some pictures of the stands. You could weld up a set using 3 or 4 inch square steel tubing and 1/4 inch plus thick plate.
