New Holland 268

My neck of the woods $1500-$3500. Had one that was like new and sold it for $5000. Had sat in a barn since it was 3 years old until 3 years ago.

Will have to look and see if I have a gearbox for that. Been busy with parts as haying season is here and things break. Will let you know.

You are going to find some stuff is NLA. Knotters and needles will be available. Unless you are in an area with very few balers, $3K should be very good money for a 268; more than I would pay. $5 or $6K should buy a very nice 316 or even a 565 or 570.

Condition is everything on older equipment, worn out its worth scrap less the hauling but good well maintained one is worth right much.Although in my area its a rare thing to see a baler that old bring over $1500 regardless of condition.I bought a nice well maintained Oliver 62-T couple years ago for $200 and took it home baled hay the next day.

I am looking for a hitch for 276 baler. Called three different places and none have bothered returning calls.

Yes, traditional farmer, of course condition is everything, we all know that, but the problem with a baler is that there are so many parts that are very tough to inspect that could make a baler extremely expensive to make dependable. A baler could be always shedded and look nearly new but be used up, or be little used and left out doors and look terrible but be ready to bale 1,000 bales tomorrow.
