Land Pride Disc Mower

I am looking at a Land Pride 7 ft. Disc mower. 5 years old. Looks to
be in good shape.
I do not see a tag on it anywhere or a decal. I just have to take the
owners word that it is a Land Pride. (Great Plains?)
Is this a good disc mower to own or a brand to stay away from?

Jack it up and look at the bottom. See any cracks brazed over? When I was looking for one all the used ones (not brand unique) I saw had what I said. I passed and bought a new drum for less than the cost of the used discs. Good use of my money.

To me the way to inspect a disc mower cutter bar is to grab the tip of a disc and see if it will move up and down more than any of the others, then turn it side to side and see if any one has more free play than the others. The bearings inside the cutter bar are what make for an expensive repair.
