I once had a website where you could be 24T parts including chain kits but I cannot seem to find it now. My chains are in need of replacement but I cannot remember what chains the 24T baler uses.

Does anyone have any information on what chains I need for a 24T? Your help is appreciated!

Remove the chains. Lay them flat and count the 'pins'/spans on each. Each chain will have the size stamped on the side of the link. they will be #50,#60.Possibly there may even be a chunk of #40,too. Go find out. Learn things!

Chains & other part info is available on JDparts.com.

Frt chain consists of 65 links + coupler link of RC50 5/8'' pitch, feeder finger chain consists of 83 links RC60 3/4'' pitch RC60,1 offset & 1 coupler link, needle lift shaft chain consists of 85 links of RC50,1 offset & 1 coupler link.

What ever you do do not buy chain from china. It is poor quality junk that will wear fast and stretch and in time wear out your sprockets. Diamond chain is the best and most expensive. Drives is a great chain and is what I use the most of. You can buy 10 ft rolls of chain reasonable from Shoup Manufacturing in IL. They will also have connecting links. For no more chain than is on a 24t baler just go to a Deere dealer and tell them you want new chains. They will have the size and number of links required in the parts book and will make them up from 100 ft rolls that dealers stock. When replacing chains be very careful and recheck your timing to make sure it does not change. Tom
