Ford 501 Sickle Mower Pulley Belt

I have a Ford 501 with a 12" pulley. What size belt should I get to replace it. There are no tractor dealers within an hour and a half, and its working right now, but it's kinda ragged. I would like to order one from the internet to have on hand.

Trying to do it that way will be hard to do and get it correct. The owners manual also does not have the belt number in it I know because I just looked. If it where me I would pull the belt and take it to a good auto parts store and have them get you one

FIAT/dba CNH has parts catalogs on-line.

The link to the parts catalog for the "501" mower is below.

Looks like you need a #33552 belt, (V -BELT 0.88" W x 52.80", Use on all 12" sheaves)

If you don't have a CNH dealer nearby, try Messicks (in PA.). www.messicks.com.

Or, GOOGLE "JayDee Enterprises". They have good quality aftermarket belts.

Last night I took a hay string and ran it around the outside of the belt on the mower. It measured 53". If I'm not mistaken, I
think that a Gates C49 belt should work: OD - 53", Width - 7/8, Depth - 17/32. If it will work, I can pick one up at the local
auto parts store for $20.
