Round baker opinions

I am currently running a hesston 845, but I am
thinking about switching. Looking for opinions on
a New Holland 640, or a John Deere 435. Thanks for
the help.

Keep the Heston or buy go with the 435 . Ran a 640 and it wasn?t bad but it would have to be cheap before I would buy one

Yrs back I baled many 1000's of bales with a JD 435 with few problems. I like the electric controlled wrapping system & mega-wide pickup on the newer models such as the JD 467 rd balers much better but sadly these models are probably out of your price range.

My first roller was a Hesston, 5560 as I recall......was my last. My second and subsequent were green. No regrets.

after you leave Vermeer everything else is way behind ---ck about repairs on nh and deere then watch what all the hay dealers use

Really I've baled over 150,000 rd bales with a JD rd baler without many problems.

There is a 604 prominently displayed on the way to town, been there for 6 months at least....LOOKS to be great shape. Talk to the owner and he goes over the $4k he paid in repairs for his last trip to the shop and goes into what's wrong with it..........looking over at his equipment row sits a nice, shiny 4XX Deere of all things. My my.

Commercial guys around here use NH and Deere processing equip and Deere balers. I've seen one Vermeer in use in my 40 years here. Check the local used equipment dealers and you'll find several on the lot. So, why are they there, hot sellers or plenty for sale, buy cheap, and look for a good mark up........wink. That's my guess.

Baled about a million bales with two 535 and a 435 I?d own
one but I can?t justify it for the amount of hay I put up . If new
holland would update that stupid twine arm design and
improve the pickup that 640 I ran if you even thought about
hitting a windrow not dead on the pickup plugged

Where I live one would wear out a pickup truck driving around looking for very many NH rd hay balers out in the field actually baling hay. NH rd baler owners can have the enjoyment of replacing sledge rollers & brgs but not me. I'm glad JD rd balers don't need a duckbill to apply surface wrap.
