Whitman Agricultural Company question

I'm getting close to dragging the hay press that's referenced in this patent https://patents.google.com/patent/US547051 from the weeds for restoration. I can't find a better photo of the same press...and the advertisements online are slightly different.

The closest photo I can find is this ad copy:

Anyway...the real question. Does anyone know if Whitman had a color scheme that was standard for their stuff? I can't seem to find any reference to paint colors in an internet search and I'd like to bring it back properly *if* it was painted to begin with. Whitman was a pretty big outfit so I assume they had their own "color scheme"...

There is zero trace of any original coloring that I can find anywhere. Something might show up in disassembly but I doubt it from what I can see.

Or...what are the odds that this was not painted from the factory at all? On stuff that wasn't factory painted back in the day that desperately needs some protection from the elements, does anyone have a suggestion on where to take such things? I'd like to be historically accurate but...this also has to show well for an outdoor museum display that needs to be reasonably protected from the elements.

Thanks for the help.
