I?ve gotta ten foot and a 15 foot my plan for the ten foot is to
mount a row of cultipacker rollers right behind the disk and
then a harrow behind that I?ve always thought about
lengthening the frame of a disk and adding a couple rows of
danish s tines .

similar to a chisel plow with disc blades up front and the tines behind, I have seen a couple of them being used locally and look to do a nice job.

Ya I think it would do a really neat job kind of like some of the
new finishing tools everybody pulls now days I probably won?t
do the danish s tines this year but I?m going to get the disk
home and start on the packer hitch and Harrow

You're gonna to have to move the transports. all the extra wt behind will just drag. to balance,IMHO, Move the transport axle between the disk, and the roller and harrow teeth. Move the rear disk gang ahead. You may also need to beef up the frame as well. Good luck on what sounds like a cool project.

Thanks I?m hoping that I can adjust the hitch enough to compensate for the extra weight the culti packer wheels I?ve got are only 10 inch so they aren?t super heavy

I think you"ll need to add chains to the front of the harrow sections, parallel to the ground...maybe attaching to the disc at the shaft bearing mounts. The way they are now, the sections will rise up and bounce. I did similar attaching a coil tine harrow behind a 20 foot Danish tooth incorporating digger. Works very well for finishing a field.

there are chains on the front and it does a heck of a nice job I?m going to put the same setup on the ten foot disk

I think you will need to make a frame to support the extra weight. Many of the IH 370 disks already have the angle iron frames cracked at the disk gang mounts. With adding extra weight clear on the back I think the frame will fail.

Also your ground must be very flat. The extra length would not work here. Crossing dips/waterways in the fields would stress the frame terribly. Long finishing tools here have to have a lot of vertical travel to work and not break.

Your harrow system is very nicely done. I am sure it works well.

Yes the harrow on the big disk works great I?m not sure if I?ll ever end up putting the s tines on maybe someday but for now I think the roller and harrow willl do the job I want . I see a picture on here of a tool with a chopper reel kind of like an old stalk chopper that might work for pretty good and be lighter than the culti packer wheels

Look up a Noble mix n till. They used a chopper reel and then a light wire style rolling basket on the rear. One of the light wire rolling baskets might work on your disk.

That?s not a bad idea . I have a roller off my extra power harrow that would probably work pretty good
