spinner speeds on litter spreaders question

WHAT IS a litter spreader? That is the question as to why you were getting the type of answers to your other question.

So, are you talking a regular manure spreader, and you want to know how fast the beaters should spin?

You are using words 'not from around here' so it's a little unclear.

I have no idea how fast they actually spin.

Assuming a manure spreader hooked to a tractor run off a pto then you should be running it at the rated tractor pto speed. So,e of us will run it closer to 3/4 speed, but wouldn't want to go slower or it won't fling, might bust.

Once you get familiar with it, you learn to slow it down for the ending clean out, and faster or slower a bit for dry or lumpy or wet manure.

But, 3/4 to full pto speed should be the right answer, it should be designed for full pto speed. (On an old tractor with no gauge, fairly close to what you consider wide open.)

I still don't know if I happened upon the answer you are looking for. :) sorry if I am way off base.

It's a poultry litter spreader. It is not the same as a regular cattle manure spreader if you are not familiar with them. There are no beaters just two spinners that sling the litter. That do not turn at 540 I know that. All I am asking, if someone has a litter spreader, what do their spinners turn according to their book or experience. I do not own such a spreader or I could tach it myself.

The vertical type, pretty heavy duty? Probably not a 'new' idea, but a newer thing....

It is so hard to judge here, what people are asking about and their experience level sometimes. Short messages a person kinda has to assume a lot, or not answer at all.....

Figured I would start on the simple end, should went with the top end this time.

But then, I don't know much about them other than watching them from the road sometimes, poultry is 30 miles east or west of me, not right around.
