Hey guys,
Opinions on a Hesston hydra swing 12' haybine.
Have two 9' NH machines...479 and 488.
Have more HP than needed for these machines but less than I would like to operate a discbine of any width (mild hillsides).
I have thought that if a center pivot, wider machine in good shape came for sale locally, that would be the right move to speed up the cutting
process. I know a discbine would really do it but just can't justify the expense of new and the used market is always pretty beat.
HAve a MF 265 (60+ hp), MF 1080 (80 hp) and a Landini 105 (100 hp). I assume the smaller Massey is a little light for this, but could operate
in a pinch, the 1080 would be fine, as would the Landini.
I like have two or three tractors that could operate any of our hay equip if necessary, so I size accordingly.
So, on the 1160
Can I handle?
Which roll situation is best for these? All steel or rubber and steel (have to talk to seller to see what this has)
Are parts available on these? I know with my NHs I can get anything through local dealer and/or messicks.
Any major items to look for?
My fields are pretty wide-open for my area of NY (stone wall fences removed in the 70''s), is the hydras wing the way to go for this type of
setup? Does a center-pivot haybine cut on either side of the operator?
Thanks
