I picked up a fair condition 963 running gear. Not sure of the vintage, it has 11L tires. Like all things it's age, it's been worked on/modified. Someone has made/welded solid bolsters, the reach looks like it has been modified. I have the IPL for the unit, I was wondering if anyone had a PDF copy of an. operators manual that detailed the adjustment & maintenance . I'm trying to determine what is original and what has been modified.

I have a copy of the parts manual, the link to the owner/operator manual is only a preview. I'm mainly interested in the details on adjusting the reach and whether the original tube is designed to be extended. There are multiple holes in the frame. I presume it's not critical since whatever the running gear is attached to essentially ties the frames together. I want to build a 16' bed with about 2' of overhang past the the front & back bolsters so I'll have to extend the reach.

Best way is go to JD parts lookup site and search for 953 ,odel and you will get the parts book for both with all years included. They did make an operators manual for both models and that is not in same book but it will not cover differences by years.
