Hello, Thank you for reading my question. I have an old John Deere Harrow Disk which came with a CAT D4. My investigation into its origin has me to believe it is a model 1200 series after visiting the JD dealer. I am replacing the bearings and shafts in the rear this year because they finally let loose a gang. When I bought it the left side was being held in by a chain. So I knew I was going have to do some repair. Unfortunately, the bearings are very pricey for an old disk ($250 plus each). Also two spool halves were cracked and broken ($150 and $190 plus). This is a nice heavy disc with good blades. I hate to just move and leave the old girl for scrap as the dealer suggested. I am thinking about finding less expensive bearings instead and rigging something up. Any suggestions? If I put $2000 into it would this disc be worth anything repairing with JD parts?? Or is the dealer right just move on. I will attach some pics to help clarify the model and parts involved. Thanks for any advice in advance.
