PTO 540rpm to 100rpm

I have a Woods backhoe that has the 21 pt 1000rpm pump and all of our tractors are 540 rpm PTO. Is there a gearbox that increases the 540 rpm to 1000 rpm? The tractor has 64 hp at the PTO(claimed) so that shouldn't be an issue, but I need to find a fix here.

I have looked at the Dynamic 5.5ci displacement PTO pump but it is out of stock everywhere in the world. Loved to find a used one of these if I cant find a gearbox.

ALL reasonably priced....

anything out there?
 
I would think that a 540 to 1000 adapter would be plenty. Dad's PTO backhoe was 540 and we only ran it at 1/3 throttle or so. Run the tractor wide open and I'd say you would be fine. Otherwise Prince and others make 540 pumps for backhoes that should work just fine.

Have you actually tried using the backhoe at 540 PTO speed? I am thinking that would be about the right speed for me.
 
Hub City used to offer a gearbox for that purpose, around $1,400 and is around a foot long. You would probably be better off to find a replacement pump with 2X the displacement, or use it on a different tractor with 1000 RPM PTO.

How often do you use the backhoe? Try using the backhoe with the existing pump. It may be slow and use extra fuel but will still get the job done for occasional use.
 
Put the hoe on the tractor and try it. It may work just fine. 'Test' before spending money on parts.
