Oliver plow master 100 rooster comb

Just acquired an Oliver plowmaster 100 rooster comb 2 bottom plow and need a tail wheel. Any idea where i could find one? Iv'e googled searched the heck out of it with no luck.

Did your plow actually have a live tail wheel? Very, very few did. Most just had a rolling land side and some didn't even have that depending on the ground in the area it was sold.

well i call it a tail wheel it could be a rolling landslide i guess, im just going off pictures ive seen. i imagine i wouldnt pull to strait without something though

Are you talking about Oliver plows as to few having tail wheels, OR ALL plows in general, cause, although ive never seen a Ollie plow, I have seen IHC, JD, MM plows, and they all had tail wheels. NOW< I had a AC 1 16 that didn't have a tail wheel, but that's the only one ive ever seen without a tail wheel.

If you have light ground you can get by with just a regular land side with a heel on it, if you have a lot of clay you will probably want a rolling land side. They pop up on eBay every once in a while or if you can find a junk plow with one on it. Good lick finding a live tail wheel, it took me 5 years for me to find one for my 100.

The rolling landslide is rigid and doesn't carry the weight of the plow when the plow is out of the ground. A tail wheel carries the weight of the back of the plow and swivels when the plow is out of the ground. The tail wheel locks ridged when the plow is in the ground.

We've had several two-bottom Plowmasters and one three-bottom. The three bottom has a tail wheel (we still use it), but the two-bottoms all had rolling landslides.

Don't feel bad. I plowed with one for fifty years, calling the wheel in the back a tail wheel up until a couple of years ago no matter which plow I was talking about. Dad did, too.

I have a couple of extra "rolling landslides" here, but I wouldn't part with them for anything. They are too useful. I even took one and rebuilt the bracket to adapt it to replace the broken-up counterpart from a Case BER mounted plow. Does a fine job.

Well a rolling landslide it is then. I may just rig up a horizontal piece of steel i just need it to function which would mean it stays in a strait line and does not try to pass the tractor hehe. I have seen alot of people plow with nothing back there, just the bottoms but i havent tried them out yet
