John Deere 7000 wide row planter, how narrow can I make it?

Just picked up an early 7000 planter (rectangular bar when viewed from side, not square) at a sale. It is currently spaced at 38", however, from looking at it, I cannot see any reason I couldn't narrow it down to 32-34" rows with the wheelbase being the greatest limiting factor. I intend to pick up an owners manual asap but until then I am interested in hearing from those who have used this particular planter. Thanks,

Pete

There is a fella on here and the other Ag forum, that has narrowed one up pretty nicely.

This is his pic. I appologise I can't remember who now.

You can see how he cut off the rock shaft, moved it over, and made new bracket for the rock shaft to weld back on.

That would be the way to go.

I assume you're talking about a 4 row planter. I'm not sure what you mean by square/rectangle bar, but my book says a narrow planter is 30,32,34in. Wide is 36, 38, 40.
