Hey Farmallb....

I ran across your old post about the adjustable bottoms for the seed cups on your drill. Did you have any luck finding one? If not, I can get you a part number this afternoon when I get a minute to dig through my manuals. I believe the Parts Depot should still have a few on hand..... at least they did a few years back when I ordered some.

Mike

There not sliding, there moving in and out, hinged by a pin in the middle. The upper 3in has holes in it. The bottom 3in is wide to cover the drop spot.
NO I didn't find any. Ill be amazed if I can buy them new. WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO

This thing? If so, the number is N12478. The Depot shows 17 of them up in Chilton. If you're looking for the disc scrapers (at least I thought you were), they interchange with various numbers up to the M & #10 drills. Can't find that book, but the 10 should be listed on the CaseIH parts site. If you need any other info, I'll help out as best I can.

Mike

P.S. Before I forget, the parts catalog number is 69-SM.

Did I fix it?

yep, that looks like it. Do you have a ph# or address where I can order a few?
Im sure thankful for your detective work.
I guess persistence DOES pay.

The Depot only sells through dealerships, so you should be able to order them through any CaseIH dealer. I believe New Holland as well. Just let them know you need to order from the Parts Depot, they'll know what your talking about.

The link below will take you to the Parts Depot website where you can search the inventory before you call. If you click on the "PARTS QUICK CHECK" tab on their home page, it will take you to a parts search. You can look for parts of almost any color & any age. Oddball stuff, too! Manuals, grease, paint, decals.... I even found a John Deere HO scale trainset in stock. If you're wondering, no, they don't have it all. But you will be surprised at what turns up on their shelves.

...OR...

It seems McFarlanes' over in Sauk City mirrors the inventory from the Depot on the Tractorhouse site. So, if all else fails....

Good Luck!
Mike
Old Parts Heaven.......

I called a CaseIH dealer in Goodland Kans, 1 785 899 3432
I said I wanted a price for a part out of Parts Depot.
I first gave him the Pt# N12478
He said that was a no go, so
I gave him the Pt# W7069CR
He said that was no good either.
What do I do next???????????????????????

Uh-Oh! Sorry I didn't get to your post 'till late. I have to run down to the dealership around lunch time, tomorrow. I'll run the number past them & see what happens OR you can call the Depot in Chilton & see what's up. They are on the shelf, according to the site.

Well, I called up to Chilton & they confirmed they are on the shelf. I asked if by chance she had a call from KS this AM & she said no. So, I called Farmers' Implement in Allenton, WI 262/629/4104. The "N" number returned good & they are $14.60 ea. I got 2 for myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I'll know when they come in on Thurs. if I'm awake or not. ;v) You may want to call Chilton yourself & let them know that they are not properly represented by your local dealer &/or find out if someone in your neighborhood will deal with them.

Not all dealerships want to deal with the Depot, for whatever reason. There's two local Deere dealers that look at you as if your speaking in tongues when asked about a depot order. Finally said to heck with them & went & got my JD train set in Janesville, which is an hour & a half from here.

Mike

I called a CaseIH dealer in Savannah Mo. he supposedly found the part. Said they show 14 of them. Didn't show a picture, OR give a price. He said they called it a bracket. That's NOT how I would describe the part, tho I cant think of a name I could describe it as. IF I knew the price, Id know to an extent whether to order it or not, as it shouldn't cost more than around $-20. BUT, IF I order it, and it cost $200, what then???

Bracket is the name they gave it when it came into the Deopt. They don't actually know what all the parts are. If you look through the blog page on their website, there are handfuls of old IHC, JD, etc. parts that they have no clue as to what it is. I don't know what the markup is from dealer to dealer or what shipping would cost, but I wouldn't think you would end up paying much more than $20.

I can also make this less of a pain in the butt for you by ordering up whatever you need & sending it out to you. The dealers around here work with the Depot all the time. As do I. It's usually faster for us to get parts off of their shelves than it is waiting for Case to figure out if it has the part on a shelf.... somewhere in their system & then getting it out to us. In my case, the part is so old it was probably on the first pallet to the Depot back in the 80's.

Keep me posted, I'll be more than happy to help out.

Mike

P.S. My two "brackets" as they call them, arrived as I was typing this & will be picking them up this afternoon. I'll post a pic & you can confirm
if they are what you are looking for.

What is the due$ for one? NOW that winter has set in, Ive got my first electric heat bill, and its over double what my former bills were. Im tighter than Dicks hat band right now, BUT, If youll tell me the price so I know what to try to save for, Ill promise that sooner or later ill pay for one. Please hang onto it for me until I can get up the money. Thanks for ALL your help.

Hopefully, this looks better. They are near identical. The rusty one is actually in a dark, red varnish. That was in common use up to the 30's. I don't know if it was originally that dark or if it's darkened due to the pigment breaking down. The other one is painted an orangey-red. Speaking of paint, be sure to clean out the hole the pin goes through & apply kerosene. The top face & sides of the cup itself also get cleaned & lubed with K1. The sector pin for the three holes stays dry.

Mike

If it's all the same to you, I'd rather send it out before they get lost. I'm cleaning out a bunch of parts & equipment & don't want these leaving by accident. We can even up in spring or whenever. No worries! I left my e-mail open for you.

Mike

Thanks ALOT, and Merry Christmas. This is proving to be one of the best for me.
Would you put your name/address/ph# inside the pkg so ill have it, so I can know where to send the money when I have it. THANKS AGAIN

Mike, if its all the same with you, ida sooner be dealing with a acquaintance than a company. I messed up and erased your post to me, so please resend it with your name and ph#, and ill send you my address.
