McCormick Hay Loader Wood ?

I am in the process of restoring a McCormick hay loader and have questions about the wood parts. I read earlier someone thought the wood was ash. Is this correct? Nothing is left of the rake bar runners. According to the manual these are 27" long. Could someone give me the other dimensions (width and how tall)? Also the same with the rake bars. Manual says 119 1/2" long. Some of this wood is left but want to make sure I have width and how tall correct before cutting new lumber. Thanks

I had a McCormick loader when I was a kid around 20yrs old. I have a NI now. I don't think theres much difference in the wood. Im going to re wood mine. I have the wood pieces already cut to size on the old ones. Tomorrow, ill take their measurments.

a real good word of caution. Don't leave that type of loader out side in any wind as the wind will blow it over backwards. I know as it happened to ours. Not too much good after that. If putting it on a trailer to move, put it on backwards. They are not to heavy to lay down if it is windy.

I picked up one from a neighbors field about 20 years ago. I put pressure treated on mine. I've used it a few times - fun to mess with.

We had a Minneapolis Moline, there the real deal for loading trailers, but i think our had a Galvanized floor, is that possible ?
