Love Tractor Company Implements - info wanted

Greetings,
I doing some research over at www.farmjeep.com on the Love Tractor Company of Eau Claire, MI. Not only did J B Love design tractors and implements, he developed the first 3 point lift for the post-WWII jeep.

I've seen some old posts, but nothing recent. If you own any Love implements or even a Love tractor, I'd like to hear from you. I'm looking for information on Love's manufacturing efforts in Eau Claire in the 1945 to the early 1950s.

Any and all information, thoughts or ideas for research resources appreciated.

I'v still got some of the parts for the Jeep 3 pt hitch, not sure if it is a Love, but I am looking into
it. It is new, we never used it.

Thanks. Would love to see pictures of the parts you have.

I'm trying to determine if Love continued making lifts for Newgren after they acquired the rights.

I did a search on the Jeep Farming site and what I have doesn't look like any of those. I believe this one bolted into the box of the jeep. I can get some pictures. Will need an e-mail to send them to you.

My Dad and I farmed in the 50's with a jeep and horse drawn equipment. Bolted a neck yoke across the rear fenders. Had a sulky plow, sickle bar mower and a dump rake. It worked! Pop bought this thing someplace and it is not complete, but it looks new.

Willys intended the jeep to be used that way. They were marketed to the farmer with 40 acres and a couple of mules. The idea was to use the jeep's draw bar to pull the equipment, just as you did.

Willys never made a 3pt hitch, but used 3rd parties. There were 4 "Jeep Approved" hitches: the Love hitch, the Newgren hitch, the Monroe Lift (which sat in the back) and in 1960 they used the Stratton Lift. There are pictures of all of these on our site.

While these were the 4 major lifts, there were lots of other designs. Some one-off, but others that produced a number of units.

Thanks,

I do have a restored Love tractor and am also looking for information on the tractor. My tractor has no implements. It does have provisions for an independent pto. I was looking for patents applied for by Jabez Love and found drawings etc about implements Jabez applied for and got. Also found in the patent area law suits he filed on other companys for trying to steal his design. He apparently applied for patents for implements but not for the Love tractor. At least I never found it..If you reply send it to my [email protected] Thanks Butch
