What should I be looking for to pick up pecans?

I recently bought a property just over 3 acres. Some of you may have seen me in tractor talk. I haven't gotten my own tractor yet, just watching the classified in different places. My property has 23 pecan trees.

What should I be looking for to pick these up? What are the better pull behind implements?

Thanks as always.

You need to keep things mowed close and short. They make a rolling basket that picks up the nuts. You can
find a lot of good equipment with a Google search. Good luck with your trees.

Yeah they make more than rolling baskets that's why I was kind of asking cuz I figured maybe people had experience with the different ones and they could tell me which works better for them.

I know you may not like this reply but most people in my area along with myself that have small number of trees (less than 50 or so ) have found the best way to pick up the nuts is to keep grass cut with mower and have some one contract shake the trees then pay local teens or others to pick them up by hand. Upkeep and maintenance on a piece of equipment to use once a year just cost to much. I have a elderly lady that picks up on the haves. She does a great job, supplements her income and I don't have to worry with it.

Before you invest too much in equipment I suggest you wait a season and check the quality of the nuts. Some Pecans do not produce nuts worth picking up.

Invest too much and equipment? I'm simply looking for something I can drag behind a tractor and pick up the pecans. They make simple rolling implements that can do it. This doesn't have to be some massive complicated thing. I mean I'm not looking for a rocket ship or anything like that. I'm pretty sure I can find something fairly simple which is why I'm asking here. I'm not asking for multiple pieces of equipment I'm just asking for a simple Implement I can drag behind the tractor and pick up some pecans you know.

What ever you get if you drag it behind the tractor you will crush a lot of your nuts (no pun intended) by driving over them. I would still recommend the 2 handed method.

I'd be looking for a hand rake and a scoop shovel. If you have the help, a couple of rakes and shovels.
