Favorite thrasher made made in Orangeville Pa.

Would anyone be interested in a complete thrasher made by Orangeville Manufacturing. It's brand name is Favorite and is made of wood. It may date back to 1800's. Was always kept inside and it seems to be complete. They are small and can be use stationary or on a wagon gear. I found one and it looks real good. If I were younger I would buy it. It is in nice shape.

I have spent quite a bit of time in Orangeville, just outside of Bloomsburg. My Aunt and Uncle live there.

However I don't know much about the thrasher.

Dave, I belong to a antique tractor club in Tunkhannock, Pa. and we have an old wooden Favorite thrasher that we put on demonstration of thrashing every year at the show. It works fine. I have gone to Orangeville, Pa where they were made and the factory buildings are still there but used for other things now. Not much info from that town about the machines.

I live in the area and I used to live in Orangeville. For a few years I hauled for Orangeville Manufacturing till they went out of business. In there pattern shop they had patterns of everything the company had ever made and could replace any part they had ever made. In the late 1980's they still were selling wooden gears, 2 or 3 per year. I might know your aunt and uncle. I've lived around here for 45 years.

I'd be interested if no one else has already taken you up on it. I'd love to see the photos you mentioned.

Please let me know if it's still available once you have the pics, and what price they're asking.

Thanks,
Robert Thompson

Dave,
I too am interested in the thresher & in seeing the pictures. My level of interest will likely depend on condition, location, and price.
Thanks,
John

My uncle is John Roan

I have great memories of the Orangeville carnival and swimming in the Fishing Creek.

Good morning Lyle, I'm sitting here looking at the picture you sent me in May 2014. I found this thresher near here and I don't want to see it lost to time. I'm going to get pictures this week but I'm a little busy now. My wife is getting eye surgery Wed. Dave
