Frost and Woods Mower

I picked up a frost and woods mower early this year with factory rubber tires. 5.00x21. Around here these mowers are not scarce but I have only ever seen one other with rubber tires. All others on steel. Just wondered what thoughts on this were. I would say its rare but thats going off what I see. Anybody else have one or any input? Thanks, Lyle

Maybe someone added the rubber tires later? Frost and woods, i believe were made in
Smith falls ont. If i remember correctly.

Frost and woods was in Stoney Creek Ontario originally and was one of the companies that were taken over by the Cockshutt plow company of Brantford. I collect Cockshutt equipment hence was the interest in this. They weren't added after, the wheels have big cast centres with a tin rim that tire is mounted and held on with clamps such as those of old highway trucks and trailers. Just thinking it was rare.

Ive got a neighbor who grew up near S mith Falls and also collects cast iron seats. He
lives here in the states now. Ill ask and find out if he knows anything about it.
