JD 606 brush hog

Looking at a JD 606 brush hog. It is in good shape no dents or many scrapes and with front chain guards.

I have a couple Questions I am sure you all can help with.

What is a good site for getting spec...light duty, medium...what they can cut?

acceptable price?

Around me, not sure about elsewhere, a 5 ft brush hog will list for $500 all day and lots of them. However a 6 ft unit of any brand goes for a premium and not many to be had. Is this normal?

Should I just look for a 5 footer and save a couple hundred $ and make a couple more passes?

Before you all ask. I have Ford 4000 SU and only 18 acres (for now) to mow. Half of it needs reclaims after about 8 years of being fallow.

Thanks

The JD 606 is the medium Duty rotary cutter. The heavy duty of that age would be the JD 609 and the light duty would be the JD 603.

I have always felt you get what you pay for in rotary cutters. There are many GOOD brands that make different duty cutters. JD, Rhino, Land Pride, Bush Hog, to just name a few. A good quality cutter will last you a life time with normal care.

A good JD 606 will bring $1000-1200 around here.

Thanks JD Seller

I guess the price is in the range. Also medium duty is what I am looking for.
