Replacing loader lift cylinder

Bought a new to me loader for my farmall 806 and found that one of the lift cylinders has a bent rod and a warped casing. Cylinder shop did not believe it would be cost effective to rebuild the original and to replace it. Is it possible to accurately match a new cylinder with the old original or would it be more effective to replace them as a pair?

I have been thru this with customers with one bad trying to match the good one.Seems like can never get aftermarket to match. Mounts are not quite not rite, length, sometimes rod size or piston thickness witch changes stroke. Its best to replace both even if have to fab new mounts on loader.

My local welding shop guy often makes new cyl....buys rod stock, cuts to length, cuts the threads on one end, machines grooves on the other end for the seals...he"s 82 yo....find a good machinist to fix your loader.
