Using A Drill Seed Box for Food Plots

I've ask this question before. I want to plant Brassica (turnip) and clover seed uniformly. Can't afford a Brillion Food Plot seeder ($10K). Have any of you Food Plot guys had any success finding an old drill with a good small (clover) seed box? We use a "belly grinder" (hand carried cyclone seeder)..... but can't seed uniformly. Am I just shooting myself in the foot again? Another piece of junk equipment sitting around 51 weeks of the year?

When you are using the hand held spreader are you going over it at least twice and going at least two different directions? you do have to do that with those to get a good seeding job if not, for no more than you do if it were me I would just get a 3pt spreader if you need to go with a powered type rather than the hand type

I have a small 3 point seeder and when Iuse it for small seed I mix the seed with pellit lime or fert. I get a good even growth when it comes up but where I start it is thicker for a small area. Sure beats walking

We use a 3pt spreader here for our food plots
I use wheat and mix the small seed with it we set it to spread light and do mutiple passes crisscrossing the fields
We then use the seed drill with drag chains and a cultipacker to cover and finish it off
We have been doing it that way for over 10 years now and it always works great
I do go back once the plot is about an inch tall and fertilize it with the 3pt spreader
