I bought a Linebaugh disk with 18 inch scalloped disks. The disks are in good shape. I need to replace the bearings. The disk has round axles 1 1/8 inches. The disks spacers and bearing cups have square holes. Should I use the round axle or try the square axle. I appreciate your advice and help.

The discs that I had all had square holes, and axles. They don't cut so well if they are not being forced to turn by the axle.

I also have a Linebaugh disk, the shaft will be round on the threads end but should be square where the disks and spacers are. I got all my bearings from Agri Supply Company, they were the lowest in price of anywhere I found. Measure the axle width in the square part to see what size bearings you need. I thought I needed 1 1/8 inch but actually it was only a 1 inch shaft. Tractor supply wanted over $30 per bearing, Agri Supply has them for $8.99 each. For that price its always good to order an extra one to have on hand. If you have a 1" shaft and bearings that fit in a flange you'll need bearing number W208PPB6 (Agri Supply number 36404). If its a 1 1/8" shaft you'll need W208PPB5 ( Item #32624). Check out www.agrisupply.com or call 1-800-345-0169. If you need anymore help with this just let me know. I just did bearings in mine back in the summer.
