Grain Dryers

I'm looking to up date our grain dryer. We have a old GT 570 dryer that is pto driven. The dryer aurger are worn and the bottom cone is wore through and has patched together. We don't dry corn that often just when it won't dry down in the field. We farm around 400 acres. Currently we shell a 3000 bushel bin full and then dry for about a day and a half. Here are some pics of your setup. I'm just looking for something faster that won't break the bank.

We have a fleet of gts and mobridge batch dryers we usually got them set up all over the yard because they are all shot just plain ol wore out but we basically got them for nothing so we just keep making them work. But that set up you have there looks alot slicker then what we do lol
The guy i help out once in awhile has a deluxe continous flow all automatically controlled corn comes out the moisture you want it and its all great .....when it works its peed me off a time or two
He had a farm fans before that it was good had to check moisture going in and coming out slow it down or speed it up on your own the the deluxe will do that automatically.......when its all working!

Thanks, it sure beats moving
wagons around. It works for us.
Grandpa bought the dryer off a
local farmers insurance agent
after a load caught on fire. I'm
guessing that was in the mid to
late 70s. It has been moved a lot
and dryed many bushels. We have a
1000 to 540 pto adaptor that
allows us to run half throttle. We
replaced the fan blade last time
we use it. The old ones weld came
apart.

Had the same thing happen to our 570 straightened it out welded it up bout a hour down time.
we also run 1000 to 540 saves fuel.

I"ve had a Farm Fans AB8B since about 1988. Bought it used, it"s a 1979 model. It is an automatic dryer that dries about 100 bu per batch, takes 55 minutes with about 22-25% moisture corn input. It runs by itself, shuts off when the wet tank is empty. I have a 1600 bu wet tank in front of it, so the drier typically runs til about 2-3 AM, then shuts down. It"s the older model, with 2-3 radio tubes in the control box...newer ones have solid state circuitry...more dependable. Used to cost about $300 to update the controls, but this still works.

Farm Fans is one of the 2-3 companies still in business...good, dependable units. I bought mine in the 80s for $2800...now I see the same size going for 2 or less.

We have an automatic continuous drying system as you describe and it works flawlessly. Just keep corn in the wet bin and it does the rest.
