Gehl choppers

What is the difference between a 600, 700, and an 800 chopper? All parts seem to interchange as per serial number breaks! Did they just speed up the cutter head on the 800s to give it more capacity?

I had a CB 600, but I think the 700 and 800 were smaller capacity...I think the 700 was a 1 row. CB 600 was replaced by maybe a 1080? I"m sure the 1000 was smaller. But, it"s been many years. last time I chopped with the CB 600 was 2001. Many parts might interchange, but be aware that Gehl often had odd sized shafts and bearings, like 1 1/16, while others would be 1 or 1 1/8. Gehl liked to be proprietory with their parts.

Ya found out about the odd sizes the hard way! LOL Was looking for a 900 NH but my neighbor quit farming and offered his 800 with both heads cheap so I took the 800. Needed new bushings in the feed rolls and when go it apart the shaft was so worn it wasn't worth saving them. Went to a junk yard and got different ones and the equalizer arms plus a set of good knives and shear bar plus a few other parts for 75 dollars, was a good buy I thought. Had to order the bushings online and waiting for them to get here, so not to bad of a deal. There are lots of them choppers in my area so not hard to find parts.
