We have a pull type 4-14 plow. I think it's a 555H? One bottom keeps tripping. No tension on reset ears. No manual and could not find any parts break down on line. There is a number A-11678-1 on what I think is the reset spring? Any help would be appreciated.

There are several things that will cause a bottom to trip all the time. First check for and broken or missing springs inside the trip standard. Next check the roller to make sure it is not broke or froze up and not turning or has flat spots on it. Third the beam can wear or be damaged up at the top so the roller will not seat correctly. There were shims that could be added to a bushing on the bottom back side to increase how hard a plow will trip but that is not your issue if only one bottom is tripping to easy. The standard can be built up with weld and ground down but be very careful because if not right your plow may not trip at all. I would look for another standard before welding up one but dad welded several years ago. More than likely you will find a broke or missing spring or damaged roller. Tom
