Allis Chalmers Silo Blower

I'm restoring a Allis blower and could use some information. Serial number- 21725. What year is it? Should it be Persian #1 or 2?
Where can I find the V belt and the main conveyor belt? Any help would be great, and thank you!

I expect that you will need to make your own from a piece with the dimensions that you need. I was thinking Quarries as they use lots of belts. I googled belting and up came Mulen belting, with a big quarry conveyor set up on their front page. You could also try rock crushing equipment dealers. The smaller portable crusher plants have smaller more flexible belts than the bigger stationary plants.

Get any Vbelt from JayDee Enterprises. just give the OeM number,or the beilt measurements and they will fix you right up.

I would think that most quarries have much heavier belts than what can be used on the silo blower. Certainly the one that I worked in...most were 3/8 inch thick. Try any millwright company...companies that make feed conveyors, etc. They would have similar thicknesses. Paint would likely be Persian Orange #1- used on tractors til 1960. Your blower is likely from the 50s.

Do you have any Amish in your area? They will be able to help you find a source for the conveyor belt as they still use it when converting pull type forage harvester to stationary silo fillers. Many early forage boxes used belt like that in the cross conveyor as well.Several different bunk feeder companies used belting like that for feeding and conveying silage. It is available but might be hard to find. Tom

Thanks everyone. Great information! I never thought of the Amish folks. I have a Amish buddy that I will contact first! the belting is very thin and in 6 partial pieces. Just a piece of rear v-belt, but may have found one at Sandy Lake!
