Ford plows pic

Bought these 2-14's the other day and after mounting and setting them up they work ok. Test plowed a food plot and had to fine tune them some and then I plowed a small fall garden spot that was all sod and they worked fine. They are on my L3800 Kubota and my book says maximum plows are 2-12's. Thing is I plowed my spot in low 4th gear and it didn't even grunt at 6" depth.

Nice little plow.
But the lower hitch bar tells me it's a Ferguson, not a Ford. (A Ford that age would read Dearborn on the tag)

Before the Dearborn area, built fot the 9N-2N tractors. Mine bought with the 2N tractor in May of 44 has the Ferguson tag with the Ford cast in beam.

Older than I thought! Wonder how long they were built?

Would only have been during the time Henry and Harry were together and that was 39 to 47. After that it was either Ferguson or Ford but still used same ware parts. Some on here have said the plows like that was marked were only built up to 42 but I find that hard to believe that a dealer would have had a carryover plow setting for 2 years when Dad got mine with the tractor. Plow was new at time tractor was. At that time due to WW2 to get a tractor you had to be aproved by the goverment to have a need for it and then put on a wating list to get a tractor and if a John Deere came up for your number and you wanted a Farmall and you passed on it then your name was again put to the bottom of the list. When Dad got this one 3 or 4 came in on the same load and other neighbors got the others and all long gone. I came along in sept of 43 and Dad got this tractor and plow the following May so it has been around as long as I know anything.

The Ford script on the plow beam indicates either a 1941 or 1942
Ferguson plow. Your plow appears to be in good shape and with all
the pieces except for the weeders which you don't see many anyway.
Your tractor sez two bottom 12 cause of overall soil conditions.
apperently your soil is is better than most. Plow shares and
moldboards are hard to get now and expensive when you find them.
Good luck with your new plow

If they were only made in 41 or 42 can you explain how the dealer happened to have a carry over to sell new with a tractor in 44 when you had to get on a list to be able to buy a tractor and wait months for your number to come up. I cannot see any dealer having a carry over plow that long in those times.

As you said the Ferguson plows were made from '39/'47. Over the years there were changes to the plow. If the plow was bought as new in '44 it would have had U bolts outside the frame for the drawbar, tag would have been on the upright frame and tail wheel would have been riveted. If your dad had the plow with the Ford script, the U bolts for the drawbar thru the frame and the tag on the back cross bar on the frame and a smooth bore tail wheel it would have been from an earlier year, pre 1943.
