I know I didnt need it but it was free

Found a guy that was giving this lime spreader away for free and couldn't pass it up. Looked up the model and find it is probably a Dearborn 20-5 but can't really tell for sure. It's got a little rust through on the back side but should be an easy fix, augers turn freely but the gates are rusted tight, got them soaking. I have some ground I've been spreading pelletized on due to not being able to get a buggy to it, maybe I'll try this with some ag lime this fall...

I was also given one, however the one I got was bigger, almost too big, 12ft wide.

it to was frozen, but I soaked it good with used oil for a while then tap on it from time to time,
one day it moved a little, in no time it was free.

word to the wise; I believe they were designed for pelletized fertilizer, lime is very heavy.

I have spread lime with mine, but you do not want to fill it too full, however, it worked good.

From time to time when I change oil in tractor, I take the used oil and pour it in the spreader and work the lever, still free,
mine is a New Idea 120

Like the old 'EasyFlo' spreaders here. At one time almost every farm had one.Now the few that survive are rusted beyond use out in the fencerows.Last one I saw 'sell' at auction brought a dollar. The auctioneer had to beg!

I just bought a Dearborn in good shape needed a tire thats all. Paid 200 for it. Around here ag lime is going for .50c to $3 a ton. the big cost is transport and spreading.

jacksun65..what did you do for tires? Mine is going to need at least one and a rim. Looks like I'll have to do some creative fabricating to reproduce that rim too.

I've got a 9 ft Easy-Flow I bought some years ago from original owner, he always stored it inside and well oiled, I also store it inside. It's still in good condition for it's age.
Still has the chart under the lid and it shows a setting for ag lime which is the reason I bought it. I have some hill side pastures that are to steep for a truck or tractor and buggy.
When I was young I helped dad lime those pastures with a neighbors Easy-Flow, thus the reason I bought this one.
Back then we shoveled the lime in the hoppers but we filled them full, today using a loader I pour it in slow to keep it from packing.
Also when doing lime I take the lids off to keep from damaging them.

actually mine has 14" tires and wheels just use a 5 bolt wheel I think a 5x5.5 pattern and only use three bolts.

Got an MF stamped Ezee Flow 10 foot here, wouldn't put lime through it, tried that once...never again.

Works great on fertilizer, but haven't used it in years. All oiled and put away inside.

What problems did you have with lime, I thought that was what they were designed for? Does your's have the augers in the bottom?
